Exis Capital Management Inc., a hedge fund with approximately 90 traders, and 150 total staff was in the market for a new home. With an opportunity to lease approximately 35,000 s.f. on the top floor of a Class ‘A’ office building in midtown Manhattan, the client was primed to make their new home a very special place.

The Client’s challenge was to incorporate a prestigious modern art collection, while still maintaining their trading floor atmosphere. Utilizing glass floors, dramatic lighting and emphasis on the existing high ceilings, CONANT ARCHITECTS created a clean, crisp space in the public areas that showcased the large pieces of art and sculpture.

An inviting vista of the trading floor can be seen from the balcony above while an enticing view is offered through a full glass door and sidelight allow the trading floor environment to be visible, but not heard in the reception.

The high ceilings continue through the trading floor, where the most current trend in technology and trading desk manufacturing is utilized. Glass office fronts allow for a natural glow of daylight to seep on to the trading floor.
