Peter Conant founded Conant  Architects in the spring of 2000 based on the simple idea of providing creative design solutions for the needs of business.  Peter remains principal designer on all prominent projects, and brings over 30 years of design experience and industry knowledge to the team.   Peter attended university at the Rhode Island School of Design.  Upon graduating in 1977, he began his career at Hellmuth Obata & Kassabaum Architects in New York City.  He later joined Swanke Hayden Connell Architects where he was a Principal for many years.   

Always active within the local and national design industry, Peter has served as President of the New York Chapter of the International Interior Design Association as well as the National Spokesperson for the Rug and Carpet Industry.  He is a member of the American Institute of Architects, a LEED Accredited Professional, and is a Registered Architect in multiple states throughout the US.  Peter frequently lectures at NEOCON, has received several national awards for his work and has been published numerous times in Interior Design Magazine, Contract Design and Office Insight.
