      Loro Piana
    New York, NY

For six generations, Loro Piana has provided fine fabrics to the world of sophisticated and demanding customers. Expectations were no different when the showroom and US Headquarters were relocated from an existing mansion off Park Avenue to the busy retail environment of 5th Avenue.

Drawing from the elegance of recently opened retail stores, CONANT ARCHITECTS worked directly with the Italian headquarters to create their new space. Features such as light oak, sisal carpets, low iron glass, travertine and soft paint finishes became a backdrop for display of the textiles and garments. Coordination with Italian lighting manufacturers was required to modify the company’s Italian design standards to the US market. Custom crafted hanging and display rods line the showroom spaces. Substantial modifications to the mechanical systems were required to accommodate the showroom function within the office building.
