      Donghia Showroom
    New York , N Y

The original inspiration of Angelo Donghia has lived on to become the Donghia Inc. of today.  Extensive collections of furniture, textiles, wallcovering, lighting and accessories are sold exclusively to interior designers and architects throughout the world. Conant Architects was asked to assist Donghia in developing its flagship showroom in New York. This was a special assignment for our firm, as we had previously designed the offices and studios for this client.

Conant Architects worked with the Donghia team in carefully detailing and executing the project with the same exacting commitment and rigor that goes into each product sold. Although the integration of lighting, millwork and building systems were important, the finished surfaces are what demanded the highest level of attention.  Taking advantage of the northern natural light for the textile collections and maximizing the ceiling heights to most effectively express the style of Donghia were imperative in the success of the project.
