What is an Avon Contact Point?
Avon's many direct sales representatives are supported by facilities called Contact Points. Representatives recieve training on new products as well as provide localized services to Avon's many regional customers.
Contact Point facility sizes range from approximatly 1000 to 3000 square feet and have consistent program requirements.
The objective of this roll-out project is to improve the visibilty and brand recognition of Avon, reduce real estate costs and improve service to customers and representatives.
Project Process:
- Meet with key members of the organization to identify operational objectives and design aspirations
- Asses short term and long term real estate goals
- Define project scope and budget
- Assess operational process at all scales

Overall Design Objective:
- Create a new design concept and strategy for the Contact Point locations
- Provide low cost, high impact design solutions
- Provide highly flexible and noncomplex design strategies
- Develop a consistent street front presence and identity
- Develop a consistent interior concept
- Develop a "kit of parts" as design components
- Develop an implementation strategy to "roll-out" the concept on a nation wide level
- Develop a set of basic design "building blocks" that can be shipped, installed and executed into various sites and settings
- Create a series of adaptable and reconfigurable components

The Exterior:
- Create a consistent and cost effective visual graphic to the exterior.
- Reinforce Avon brand and identity
- Develop a highly flexible solution that can be executed into various settings

The Interior:
- Develop a base standard finish palette
- Propose finishes that are non-trendy, durable, and easy to maintain
- Provide cost effective finishes that have high impact
- Create a scheme that can be quickly shipped, installed and executed into the various sites and settings


Implementation Strategy:
- Develop a nation wide system to support the proposed program
- Create a central storage site, 'kit of parts' inventory control point
- Provide additional design support on a site-tosite-basis as required
- Develop a central purchasing facility to take advantage of economies of scale

Goals Achieved:
With all the design decisions and methods decided, it is easy to reproduce the product allowing room to expand and the reinforcement of brand identity.
With new contact points and meeting areas built, employees can convene for group training.
